I love nothing better than exercising and spending time with my family and friends. I also love nice food and Christmas is my favourite time of the year. My self-care tip: Listen to your body and don’t make self-care too complicated. It’s the small little things that count such as getting some fresh air, meeting with friends and taking some quiet time just for you.

Aside from working with children, my other passion is sea glass! I love hunting the beaches for the little bits of treasure that get washed up, getting them home and seeing what I can create with them. Or..... filling up endless jars and just keep them for their prettiness. My self-care tip: Spend time outdoors. In my case, preferably the beach or somewhere with water as it has such a calming quality.

I spend my free time running, walking outdoors and observing nature, which then inspires me to draw and create. I love being immersed in music and art - engaging with anything creative, really. My best self care tip would be to remind yourself that you don't have to be 'good' at something creative to do it. 'Good' is a subjective metric, and pleasure comes from the process. Pick up a creative hobby and do it just for the love of making. If you enjoy it, it is automatically worthwhile.

To pause time
The secret Language of the body – by Jennifer Mann
Caring, Creative, Intuitive

Priscilla

Counsellor

I love working alongside people as they make sense of their experiences at their own pace. As a neurodivergent person, I have a wide range of interests and hobbies, often becoming deeply absorbed in what sparks my curiosity. Time with my family, being outdoors, and moments of rest help me stay grounded and balanced. Self-care is different for everyone. It’s not about doing more, but about noticing your limits and responding with compassion. Even small changes can make a big difference when you listen to what you need, rather than what’s expected.

To pause the world. Allowing people to catch their breath, reconnect with themselves and their needs, and process what’s happening.
The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk for its compassionate exploration of how experience is held in the body and mind.
Warm, curious, real.

Huge bag of worries and The day the sea went out and never came back are both good books
Caring, loyal and friendly

Hayley

Counsellor

I love finding meaning in the messy bits of life—whether that’s supporting families through the chaos of SEND, creating spaces where people feel seen and understood, or sticking some music on (usually rock or metal, so not everyone’s cup of tea), to reset and be myself. My best self care tip is a saying I live by - you do you! Gut instinct and being authentic is important, so before you take on anything listen to your gut and do what feels right.

My superpower would be to stop time (like Bernard’s watch for those old enough to remember!) so that I can do the million ideas that I have.
I would recommend “The courage to be disliked”, from a former people-pleaser and masker, we need to unlearn other’s expectations and be authentically ourselves.
Passionate, big-hearted, funny (or tries to be!)

Melissa

Counsellor

I love laughing with family and friends, and I love the solitude of a cozy bed. I love getting out in nature with my dog, Mabel, who makes me so grateful to be in the moment outside (except when it's freezing!). My best self care tip: I used to spend so much energy beating myself up for not cleaning, or doing my hobbies enough, or whatever. Once I realised I could just have a messy house and unfinished projects - no excuses, but no judgement either - it actually freed up so much more energy to just do the thing, whatever it was. So my best self care tip is just let things be undone. You'll have the energy sooner or later.

Teleportation. My family live in the United States, and I miss out on so much. I would poof over to go to all the small events that make up their lives.
Women Who Run With The Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes and The Squiggly Career by Helen Tuper and Sarah Ellis.
Thoughtful, fun, open-minded.

Ged

I love to get out in nature (hill walking) with my dog. Spending time with my family. I enjoy socialising with a pint or two. I like to spend time studying subjects such as history and astronomy. Best self care tip - Don't compare yourself to others, value what you have rather than yearning for what you don't have.

The ability to create a world free from injustice. I would like to bring equal opportunities to all and free the world from greed and bring peace to everyone.
The Time Paradox by Philip Zimbardo.
Empathetic, polite, and considerate.
